4-Hydroxyacetophenone is a yellow acicular crystal. It is solublein hot water, alcohol, ether, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, slightlysoluble in benzene and cold water. It has a special pleasant smell.

4-Hydroxyacetophenone is mainly used as pharmaceuticalintermediates. It is also a sensitive reagent for the determination ofpalladium and lead, and a reagent for the determination of vitamin B1, B6 andPP.
